\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 We Action Shooters in particular, are faced with some difficult decisions about our shooting plans for the foreseeable future. We like to shoot a lot and as you know, ammo, including shotgun shells, is very scarce. When you do find some, the price is out of reason…ditto for most reloading supplies, especially primers.
\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 So what to do? Here\u2019s our proposal for the 2021 Action shooting season:
First, we will hold our matches as usual but allow the use of .22 \u201cor\u201d center fire guns and use the 20% + \/ – figure to equalize competitors. We will even include \u201cair soft\u201d guns in our February match on a trial basis to introduce shooters to a new affordable tool we can use to maintain our shooting skills.
Second, we will reduce match fees to $10.00 for now with the understanding that doing so may reduce year-end cash and\/or trophy awards.
Third, we will delay match start times to 9:30 but still make every effort to finish matches by 1:00 as usual by streamlining\u00a0 scenarios and their set up .
\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 By doing this and other measures as necessary we can weather the current shortages while still maintaining our shooting skills and the fellowship we enjoy with our friends at RGC.
Next month, Feb. 13th, will be a Pistol\/Only match. Please plan to come and send us any suggestions or concerns you may have in the meantime. Looking forward to seeing and hearing from you and we\u2019ll be announcing our 2020 match winners shortly.
