It was a good day on the range for a pistol/shotgun match, though the temperatures are starting to climb. We had ten competitors show up to test their skills on one pistol only stage, one shotgun only stage, and two combination pistol and shotgun stages. We got started at 9:30 with the safety briefing and finished up at about 1:00.
Level 1: 1st place Dennis Jennings rank 7 (394.18), 2nd place Bob Beaver rank 7 (408.75), 3rd place Bill Houck rank 10 (424.61).
Level 2: 1st place Bobby Nichols rank 6 (273.83), 2nd place Jerry Lock rank 8 (358.90), 3rd place Dick Williams rank 10 (416.06).
Level 3: 1st place Billy Haynes rank 6 (167.12), 2nd place Mitch Stirewalt rank 8 (189.95), 3rd place Scout Nichols rank 12 (201.81), 4th place Jeff Lewis rank 14 (240.84).
I would like to thank all the competitors for their help in keeping the match running (resetting/pasting/ect) and to Dick, Jerry, and Scout for their stage designs/set ups.
Next month will be a pistol only match. We intend on short simple stages as the next two months will likely be the hottest months of the year. Please consider a bottle(s) of water or sports drink just as mandatory as eye and ear protection and drink it throughout the match to keep yourself hydrated.
Hope to see you next month.
Billy Haynes
