Passing of friend and fellow shooter, Ben Jackson.

Ben always had a smile and was a pleasant person. A really great guy, and will be missed by his family and friends. Sadly 69 years old, is too young these days. We all are going down that road, but the trail we leave is important. Appears Ben left a lot of good behind him.

KANNAPOLIS Benny Wayne “Ben” Jackson, 69, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, June 6, 2017. Born Aug. 26, 1947, in Columbia, S.C., he was a son of the late Bennie and Annie Rose Goff Jackson. Ben had honorably served his country as a Staff Sergeant with the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Jackson retired from BellSouth, where he had enjoyed a successful 30 year career. Family members left with fond memories include his wife, Martha Griffin Jackson; his children, Laura and Shane Boucher, and their daughter Leah, Dwayne and Janie Miller, and their daughter Chanel, Samantha and C.R. Leitner, and their daughter Brianna, and Jonathan and Tara Jackson and their son Colby; his brother, Timothy Jackson and wife, Nancy, and their children, Brittany and Nick Harakas, and Christopher Jackson. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 14, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Whitley’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis. Funeral services to remember and celebrate Ben’s life will begin at 12 p.m., in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at 2 p.m., in the Salisbury National Cemetery with military honors.
