RGC Action Match Results (11-JAN-2020)

The weatherman got it right this time with the day being warm but off and on showers pretty much for most of the match but the twelve shooters who showed up had an interesting day at the range, except for our good friend John Kiwacka who had to leave early with a migraine(?) headache but seems to be O.K.  Now,  thankfully.

We did cut the match to three events instead of the usual four but still had a good day of mixed near, far and  shooting around barricades while doing our best to support the ammo makers who work hard keeping us supplied.

Today’s winners are:
LEVEL 1..Ronnie Lambert(3), Thomas Cockman(6), Wayne Broome(10), Bob Beaver(11)

LEVEL 2..Billy Haynes(3), Boyce Lomax(6), Jeff Lewis(9), Brian Davis(13)

Thanks to all of you who pitched in to set up, score and take down today’s match stages. Could not put these Action matches on without your much needed help so Thank You for all you do!

Next month, Feb. 8th, will be a Pistol/Only with four stages.

IMPORTANT INFO: Your match directors Dick Williams, Jerry Lock and John Kiwacka met and are offering the following changes and suggestions for this 2020 Action Match series:

(1)Have magazine pouches for two rifle and two pistol magazines and some means for
Carrying shot shells (pouch or speed loader)besides stuffed in your pockets.
(2)Competitors will be eligible for year end awards as long as they have competed in at
least six(6) matches during the year. We are dropping the requirement that you     must use all three firearm types. Best of six matches determines your year-end
   placement for awards.
(3)We will be formulating a qualification system for placing new shooters in either
Level 1 or Level 2 match divisions.
(4)We are asking shooters to use ammo, whether it’s factory or handloads, that will     produce a power factor of 120 minimum..Bullet weight times velocity/divided by
       1,000= power factor.
(5) Bring the following amount of ammo to the match: Pistol-150, Rifle-100, shot shell-
    50 rounds.

Thank you for your cooperation in all phases of our Action Shooter program and please feel free to give us your questions, concerns and suggestions at any time.
